October
As mentioned in previous month, went to Long Beach. Nice set up close to the aquarium, but the support for the Show was dismal...I guess people were committed to the ferris wheel and aquarium. Followed by my trip to Mountain View Art and Wine Festival. Big show with about 5-600 vendors with many craft and some good art. Saturday was a good day, selling many cards.Joy Rewick,May Jestic and Alex Gilevich were interested in the upcoming Xmas Card portfolio. Was delighted to see Eunice Kwan again. A collector of cards and has one of my sculptures. Eunice bought a copy of the book,"Anthony Verity.Paintings and Sculpture", but unfortunately her sculpture is not included.Took more Xmas card orders on Sunday. All in all a fairly successful show, but we will see what comes out from the cards. Drove on my own this time, and stayed with Neil and Kim.Sept.25,26 was the Thousand Oaks Art Festival.Hot both days. Little confusion with the booth design but changed and had a good spot. A successful show, thanks in no small part to the organization of Craig Morton. Westlake Village Art Guild had a large sponsored tent....members of the guild could show 2-3 works and sit the tent. This is a big family festival with performing arts organized by Conejo Valley R and P. Many friends were exhibiting...Ron McKee,Pong Apinyavat,Tharalson,Donna Snider,Michelle McGrath,Ron Souza,Eva Svitek,Bob Engel, the Mortons,Ann Mathias,Chuck Brittenham,Dennis Griffin,Judy Koenig,Meli Calkins, Pat Duggan,...Bessie Jacinto,Treasurer for the Simi Valley Art Assoc. purchased a book. Was very pleased to see David and Judith Piche. They passed through and bought a book....they had a painting which was included. Hours later came back and purchased 'Bleu Fromage", a mixed media work which I did about 3 years ago, but rarely exhibited. Shirley Lipe stopped by. Always very positive. She is a residential and commercial interior designer.Hopes to include the book as examples of contempory art.The Valley Artists Guild held their Fall Show at the VIVA Gallery,Sherman Oaks and reception Oct 4th. at which time I was pleasantly surprised to receive 3rd place for "Safari"....following up my Gold Medal Award in the Spring. Some of you will remember the piece; stark trees against an orange and grey sky. Thanks to Barbara Jones,Editor of Southern California SPACES,I was featured in the Final Touch,Sept/Oct 2009.

August/September
As expected July was quiet. Had opportunity to add to the Landscape series also the Still Life series. Numerous upcoming shows. Long Beach Art Festival at Rainbow Harbor(Shoreline and Pine),August 22-23. Have not exhibited there before, so hope to meet new patrons.
Thousand Oaks Arts Festival at the Civic Plaza, Sept 26-27. Usually meet many old friends. Craig and Julie Morton have worked wonders in organizing the show....all kudos to them.
Will be at Mountain View Art and Wine Festival, Sept. 12-13....just W. of San Jose, near Sunnyvale. Will meet up with Neil and Kim.
Have at last put the book into production thanks to the efforts of Kimberly,my daughter in law. Entitled "Anthony Verity. Paintings and Sculpture", a collection of images, paintings and collage. On the website now. Many acknowledgements to friends and patrons who have collected my art...for which many thanks...always nice to hear comments. The sculptures represent about 20 years but the 2-D work is essentially since 2000.

June 2009
Greetings again. June gloom is with us, but the Art scene is purring along. Emeriti Art Show in May was successful, with reception enjoyed by all. Sold cards to fellow emeriti but the highlight was Jean Trueblood purchasing " Persimmon Mountain" This was awarded the Gold Medal at the recent Valley Art Guild Gold Medal Show held at the VIVA Gallery. Jean has always been a strong supporter, especially with her annual purchase of original cards. Now a painting has been added to her collection.
The Art Walk held on behalf of the Conejo Valley Museum was held last week. Cool but pleasant weather. Patrons were a little less than last year but my fellow vendors were out in force.Dominique, Cindy Bolin Jewelry, Christine glass,Ira, and Pong Apinyavat. Was delighted to have Marston Smith and his electric cello with Celtic music in the air. Added a touch of class. The Merrill's visited again and purchased a stack of cards. Also took Xmas orders from Patricia Kling and Don
Zrehigian. Highlight was meeting David and Judith Piche who purchased 'Still Life in Blue" for their vineyard home in Newbury Park. Collectors of traditional art, they have embarked on a more abstract theme. The painting is similar to other still life's in the website gallery.
Expect July to be a quiet month.

1st Entry
This is the first message on my website.
My purpose is to provide some information on my shows and activities. I hope you visit often and let me know any feedback. You can also contact the web master at the bottom of page.
May 9,10 will see me at the Studio City Art Fair, corner of Moorpark and Laurel Canyon Blvd. I have new cards and some new paintings.
Just exhibited at the VIVA Gallery, Moorpark Dr in the Valley Art Guild Gold Medal Show. Wonder of wonders, was awarded the Gold Medal and a bountiful check for the Eden Series work "Persimmon Mountain". Some of you have seen the acrylic painting previously...has a subtle Zen appeal....
Was chosen as the featured artist in the upcoming 31st UCLA Emeriti Art Exhibit, Tuesday May 19th. Have convinced Patrick Miller and Roberta Malmgren Ph.D. to lend me works from their collection to exhibit. Should be a fun day...all are invited to the reception at 2.30pm. Thanks to Noel Carterette and Toshi for their efforts in organizing this annual event.
Unfortunately, was not juried into the Beverly Hills Affaire in the Garden Show. Will try again in the Fall. Meantime, come by at the Conejo Valley Art Walk, Thousand Oaks, June 6,7.
